What is Removable Partial Denture?

A removable partial denture (RPD) is a prosthetic appliance that replaces one or more missing teeth while being supported by and attached to the remaining natural teeth. RPDs are a cost-effective, non-surgical option for restoring dental function and aesthetics. At NeoSmile, every RPD is custom-made from high-quality acrylic and metal alloy for durability and natural appearance.

Key Benefits

Cost-Effective

RPDs are among the most affordable options for replacing multiple missing teeth.

Non-Surgical

No surgery required — making them suitable for patients who cannot undergo implant procedures.

Restores Function

Significantly improves chewing ability and speech that may be affected by missing teeth.

Prevents Drifting

Fills gaps to prevent remaining teeth from shifting out of position over time.

Natural Appearance

Custom-shaded acrylic teeth blend naturally with remaining dentition.

Easy Maintenance

Removable for easy cleaning — simply take them out and brush like natural teeth.

How It Works — Step by Step

1

Initial Consultation

Examination of remaining teeth and gums to plan the most suitable denture design.

2

Impressions

Detailed impressions of both arches are taken and sent to the dental laboratory.

3

Framework Try-in

The metal framework is tried in the mouth to check fit and bite before adding teeth.

4

Tooth Try-in

Denture teeth are set in wax for trial — you can see and approve the aesthetics before finalisation.

5

Delivery & Fitting

The completed denture is delivered, adjusted for comfort, and oral hygiene guidance is provided.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most patients adapt within 4–6 weeks. Initial speech changes and increased saliva flow are normal and resolve quickly.

It is recommended to remove your denture at night to allow gums to rest and to soak the denture in cleansing solution.

Remove after meals if possible, brush gently with a soft brush and denture cleaner, and soak overnight in denture solution.

With proper care, RPDs last 5–7 years. The fit may need adjustment over time as the gum and bone change.
